NO! Not those kinds of Hot Links. Geez Louise! Get your mind out of the kitchen
Bob Dylan - One Too Many Mornings
Down the street the dogs are barkin' and the day is a-gettin' dark.
As the night comes in a-fallin', the dogs 'll lose their bark.
An' the silent night will shatter from the sounds inside my mind,
For I'm one too many mornings and a thousand miles behind.

Every thing I listed here is free. With the exception of the Security Protection Directory. But that doesn't mean you can't pay
for the free ones. If you find a free product or program you like, send them $5 or $10. They deserve it for the trouble they take,
making it, and keeping it updated. If you find a bad link here, please let me know by sending me a message.

Pop-Up Tester  This site has several different scenarios for testing your pop-up/floater blocking programs.
Benchmarks
Benchmarks, are programs designed to gauge your systems performance. It seems there are lots of folks out there who use them as a
competitive sport, trying to outdo the next guy. This is most prevalent in Video benches, but occurs along the entire range of applications.
Since I'm poor and usually about a year behind in the latest components, I'm kind of left out of the game. In fact I just replaced my 5900XT
video card with a 6600GT. There's no way I could have afforded a 6800 or even 7800. But in reality, even if you are running Windows 95,
benchmarks can help you optimize your system, to make it as good as it can be. That's what tweaking is really all about. Doing all those
little things. They don't amount to much more than minuscule changes, but cumulatively, they have a synergistic effect. The benchmarks are
the way to see and gauge those changes. I'm gonna list some of the more common ones, but there are lots more out there. I'm gonna
include some diagnostic programs as well, so you can test your components to see why they aren't performing like you think they should.

Sisoft Sandra Lite   This is one of the most comprehensive programs available for free. 10 different benchmarking modules, as well as
performance tests. I like the Burn In test. It stresses your system to see how stable it really is.
CAUTION! This test can damage your
system if you aren't careful. Read the instructions carefully.

Futuremark   Futuremark is the parent of 3DMark a video bench, and PCMark, a general hardware bench. Both are considered industry
standards and are commonly used by many sites publishing reviews of new components. If you have an older system, you may have to
hunt for older versions, as the test stay in compliance with what's new.

Aquamark3   A video benchmark.

Everest Home  More of a system information site, but it contains 3 memory benches you can use. I like them cause they are quick.

PC Pitstop   A very nice tool for scanning your system and suggesting changes to increase performance. Not really a bench, but a good
tool.

PCWizard 2005  A system info program that includes a suite of sweet benchmarks. Also check out their CPU-Z program

Disk Bench   Test your hard drives performance

ScienceMark    Let's be scientific about this. OK?

CPU RightMark   Benches your CPU with computational modeling, and 3D graphics problems.

MHDD   Another good hard drive performance analyzer.

DocMemory   A memory tester for most any kind of memory, from SIMM to Rambus.

Memtest86+   A new version of memtest86, everybodys favorite memory tester.

RightMark Memory Analyzer   Deep memory analysis with 7 tests including: average and peak memory bandwidth, average and minimal
L1/L2 data cache/memory latency, L1/L2 data cache associativity

DVDInfopro   Nice program for CD/DVD Speed & Error Test functions, Drive & Media Info, Quick Erase & Fast Format functions for
DVD-R/RW & DVD+R/RW, and more. The free version contains some inbedded ads within the interface, but is not adware. Also has a
64bit program available.

Nero CD-DVD Speed   A CD-DVD ROM benchmark, analyzer.

RightMark Audio Analyzer   Check your sound system out.

Monitor Asset Manager  It is fully multi-monitor-capable, and unlike similar reporting utilities queries the monitor directly rather than relying
on potentially dubious information stored in the registry. Also allows IS managers to track inventory by serial number.

Indy3D   Indy3D is organized into three sets of tests: application, quality and primitive.  There are four application tests (MCAD40,
MCAD150, animation and simulation), one quality test, and three primitive tests (polygon rate, fixed rate and fill rate).

UMark   Test your graphics with Unreal Tournament 2004.

BIOS Agent   Get the info you need to see what BIOS version, type, etc. you are currently using.

TaskInfo   Shows everything you can see in Task Manager, and everything you wish you could see.

Bench JS   How well does your browser handle heavy Java Script? Is your browser and system fast enough?

BIOS From A-Z  From Tom's Hardware
A Shuttle Spacewalk
This is a 227 hour exposure of a section of sky the size of the moon. It's hard to look at this image and still think we are all alone.
The big star in the center is actually a star in our Milky Way. The other "stars" are mostly other galaxies with billions of their own stars.

Oh the time goes by so very fast
And you know your younger years won't last
So take these childhood dreams as they come
Oh, and learn to live each day one by one
